Engineering research will be postponed while making everyone Synthetic. The research bonuses IMO don't stack up to those from Biological or Psionic. Most of the benefits are toward Generator and Mining Districts, of which I have very few if any. Synthetic - I legit don't think this is a good idea for this empire. This has the advantage of not needing to hold up research for extended periods of time, the original species gets it immediately while the rest can be Assimilated. Some cool military tools here too like Precognitive Computers, Psionic Armies and Psi Jump Drives. The Psionic trait gives a nice Research and happiness bonus, which is further amplified by Psychic Governors and Scientists. Psionic - Its easy to get a Spiritualist pop via Immigration treaty to roll Psionic Theory. Clone Vats are a welcome boost to Pop Growth which helps fill up those Ecumenopolis faster. However this will require gene-modding every single species in the empire seperately and while the ascension perks cut the cost of each project in half this will still hold up Society Research for quite a while. I could also add traits that reduce housing, amenities and consumer good usage. If Robust increases research and alloy production then that's also a big plus. So my own theories on the ascension paths for this empire:īiological - The main benefit here is access to the Erudite trait for its large bonus to Research, especially once it gets onto the Ruler, Governor and Scientists which also benefit from the leader bonuses. My foreign policy was that friendly Federation Builders would be made Federation members, unfriendly empires would be Liberated into Federation Builders and then federation members, and other Megacorps would be Hostile Takeovered and then turned into Subsidiaries without exception. My branch offices were focused on Mineral production. Ultimately my empire had many different species in it populating two Ecumenopolis focused on Alloy and Research production, supplemented by Galactic Wonders (Matter Decompressor, Science Nexus, Dyson Sphere). My Civics were Free Traders and Trading Posts. My ethics were Fanatic Xenophile and Egalitarian. My empire was a Megacorp bonused heavily for Trade Value and running Consumer Benefits and Militarized Economy for the whole game. However my thoughts are purely theoretical at this point and I would like input from more experienced players. I'm going to share my build followed by my own thoughts on the ascension paths based on my research. I wonder how much better it could have been if I had gone for an ascension path. I still won even without it, but I was playing on I think Captain and 0.75x Crisis. Imperial Prerogative or Technological Ascendancy would actually give you a real benefit since the tech research speed allowed you to get every tech faster while IP would allow you to keep more planets outside of sectors which pre 2.2 gave you more minerals and energy from your planets. You actually gained mienrals and energy that way.īoth are still my two first picks in 2.2.So i'm once again going back and re-examining my thus far one and only completed run of Stellaris, and one thing that bugged me was that I never picked an ascension path. ![]() There was no point in clearing them all at the start and blocker techs are some of the cheapest in the game.Energy at the beginning was so plentifull that there was no reason to not spend it and after a certain point of the game the perk had no use to due the massive income and the abitly to teraform. Not really you didn't need to clear blockers until you actually needed that tile.A tile was only usefull if you had a pop to work on it. You don't need an extra district at the start of the game since your planets won't be full at that point ,taking it first gives you no benefit.Nor do you need to remove all blockers early it even less urgent in 2,2 than it was in 1.9 and 2.0.
